LISNEY have agreed to take over a premises formally occupied by Bank of Ireland in the heart of Dublin 4.

The estate agent is understood to have paid around €900,000 for the property on Sussex Road opposite the Burlington Hotel.

The property, which had been a branch of Bank of Ireland, was sold on the instructions of receivers RSM Farrell Grant Sparks. It was previously owned by developer Bernard McNamara.

CBRE, who acted as agents for the sale, said there had been a "good level of interest" in the property.

The property, which had been vacant for a number of years, was originally offered for rent at about €70,000 per annum two years ago.

The sale of the three-storey over basement building which extends to 288sqm (3,100 sq ft) including 96sqm (1,033 sq ft) on the ground floor is expected to close in the next week.
