Get Outdoors now at Malahide Castle

Bespoke outdoor leisure clothing and footwear retailer Get Outdoors has opened a new store in the recently restored Courtyard at Malahide Castle in North Co Dublin.

Get Outdoors will adjoin Avoca's food hall, cafe and retail store.

Jennifer Mulholland of Bannon, who handled the letting on behalf of the landlord Malahide Castle & Gardens Limited, commented that "Get Outdoors was selected by the landlord, as its brand is considered complementary to the lifestyle of visitors to the castle and its gardens."

The landlord is a subsidiary of Fingal County Council and the lease terms included a new five-year lease at a rent of around €25,000 a year. There are no other units available to let at the courtyard.

The castle attracts an estimated 100,000 tourists a year in addition to local visitors, and is one of a number of heritage tourist attractions managed by Shannon Heritage, the subsidiary of Shannon Development which recently re-opened King John's Castle in Limerick.
