EZ Living Interiors is set to expand its operations with the opening of a new store at the M1 Retail Park in Drogheda, Co Louth next Monday (February 11).

The well-known furniture retailer has signed a 15-year lease on a new 11,692 sq ft store at the scheme at a rent of €10.50 per sq ft. In addition to taking the ground floor space of the retail unit, a final planning grant was approved for the company to construct its own mezzanine level of 9,074 sq ft. Fit-out works for the development commenced last September.

Extending to 245,000 sq ft, the M1 Retail Park is anchored by a Woodie's DIY store. Other notable occupiers at the centre, which has been trading for 13 years, include Sports Direct, Smyths Toys and Dealz. The scheme has a substantial customer base drawn from Drogheda itself and the surrounding hinterland. In 2018, a record 1,690,064 vehicle visits were recorded according to Savills.

Established in 1986, EZ Living Interiors has 10 stores across Ireland, and employs more than 200 people nationwide.

Commenting on the company's decision to open for business at the M1 Retail Park, Colin Kavanagh of letting agents, Savills, said: "The deal is an important one and is further evidence of retailer confidence in M1 Retail Park.

"Not only are we attracting new, national retailers to the scheme, but we are also enhancing the retail offer within the Drogheda area, for which there is huge demand."
