€1.5bn in new business lending available in 2016

Ulster Bank has launched a series of Business Roadshows around the country, starting on Thursday 9th June in Cork, as part of its drive to become number one for customer service, trust and advocacy. The bank has teamed up with organisations such as the Irish Exporters Association and Independent News and Media (INM) for the support and networking events, to provide help for what matters to companies planning for 2016 and beyond. Ulster Bank has a dedicated fund of €1.5bn available to lend to businesses in 2016, a 31 per cent increase on last year.

As part of the ten Roadshows, there will be briefings from in-house experts on innovation, exporting, agriculture, sustainable growth, customer engagement and social media.

Managing Director of Ulster Bank’s Commercial Banking Division, Eddie Cullen said "Our teams around the country are really looking forward to meeting customers at the Business Roadshows. We want to find out exactly what matters to them and help local businesses to develop ideas, discuss their lending needs and find out what we can do to help our customers achieve their ambitions. We’re delighted to have a lending fund of €1.5bn available to businesses, who are the real drivers of growth, employment and confidence in our economy. We know that many of our customers, from farmers to manufacturers and multi-nationals, view 2016 as a key year in terms of implementing growth plans and access to funding is essential. We look forward to talking to businesses about how we can help them fulfil their ambitions”.

According to Simon McKeever, Chief Executive, Irish Exporters Association “The Irish Exporters Association is delighted to team up with Ulster Bank on our regional seminar series. This series, each of which will focus on a key international market, provides a platform for driving the IEA’s regional growth and development strategy and marks the establishment of a number of IEA Regional Councils.  The first of these will be established in Cork, and will be made up of representatives from exporting businesses from the region. Its purpose is to increase our presence on the ground, enhance our ability to understand and develop solutions to the local issues that are affecting our members, and to ensure we strengthen the regional input into the main IEA National Council.”
