Chanelle Group Crowned Winner of the 2015 Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards

Connacht based company Chanelle Group has been crowned the overall ‘Ulster Bank Business Achiever 2015’.

The national final, which took place at the Mansion House in Dublin on Thursday, 3rd December, toasted the cream of the crop in Irish business crowning finalists from Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht.

The awards, in association with the Irish Independent, Enterprise Ireland and InterTradeIreland, saw a record number of entries this year as 676 businesses competed nationally, culminating in the announcement of the winners at a gala dinner on Thursday, 3rd December.

Chanelle Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Ltd specialises in the development, production, marketing and distribution of generic animal and human pharmaceutical products. The company has over 1600 animal health licenses registered worldwide – the largest number of registered veterinary licenses of any company in Europe. Chanelle Group, based in Loughrea, Co. Galway, have a consistent and rapidly growing customer base in over 80 countries worldwide, with key markets in EU, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa and the Middle East. Chanelle Group currently employs 350 staff.

Along with Chanelle Group, eight other leading businesses from across the country were named national winners in their individual award categories.

This year the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards national winners are as follows:

8. Agri-Business Award - Wood Energy Solutions (WES)

This year saw the introduction of a new award category – the Online People’s Choice award. Members of the public were encouraged to vote for their company of preference by visiting  Accepting the award on the night were winners Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.

Speaking at the national final awards ceremony, Eddie Cullen, Head of Commercial Banking at Ulster Bank said: “With this year’s record number of applicants Ulster Bank has seen first-hand the outstanding achievements and successes of Ireland’s businesses. Chanelle Group will receive a publishing bursary with the Irish Independent, business mentoring, a full service communications workshop, as well as national and regional PR opportunities.
