Twitter users are out in force reacting to the announcements being made for the 2016 budget.

The hashtag #Budget16 is the top trend in Ireland as Irish people take to Twitter to express their opinions on the revelations in the budget speeches.

Students reacted well to the increases in the minimum wage and the allowances announced for entrepreneurship. Some Twitter users took issue with the new pricing structure for ATM usage but others pointed out that using 'contactless' payment would avoid this charge.

Twitter users were amused by the unrest in the Dáil, with a number of them tweeting about the Ceann Comhairle's efforts to quieten the chambers. A number of users likened the rowdy Dáil to a "school classroom... where you start messing in the afternoon as the end of the day is near".
