U-turn: Change of heart from Unilever on plan to quit London headquarters
Consumer goods giant Unilever has abandoned plans to move its headquarters from London to Rotterdam, pictured.
The decision was made following pressure from shareholders. The owner of Ben & Jerry's and other brands such as Dove and Knorr had planned to scrap its Anglo-Dutch dual listing and relocate its headquarters to the Netherlands. "We recognise that the proposal has not received support from a significant group of shareholders and therefore consider it appropriate to withdraw," Unilever said.
