UK Brexit Minister David Davis has attracted criticism in recent weeks - and it came from close quarters.
Davis was - somewhat bizarrely - branded as "thick as mince" by Dominic Cummings, the director of the victorious 'Vote Leave' campaign and former aide to Davis's ministerial colleague and fellow Brexiteer Michael Gove. In an extraordinary outburst, Cummings also described the Brexit minister as "lazy as a toad".
And James Chapman - who worked for Davis in the immediate aftermath of Brexit last year - said he had been working a "three-day week since day one".
Davis has met a formidable match in the form of Michel Barnier - with both agreeing on very little. However, both share a passion for hillwalking.
