Bord Bia launches recruitment drive in bid for export growth
Bord Bia, the agency responsible for marketing the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry, has launched its "largest-ever recruitment drive".
The agency is on a huge push to open new export markets and reduce reliance on the UK because of Brexit.
It will recruit 29 extra staff across the areas of consumer and market insight, marketing and communications, and business development.
It includes recruiting more specialist roles in relation to meat, dairy, seafood, beverages, retail and sustainability. Most roles (17), will be at head office in Dublin, with others in continental Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy said continued growth of the sector hinges on the ability to effectively identify and deploy insight-led strategies in the promotion of Irish food, drink and horticulture.
"To facilitate this, it is crucial that we have the best possible talent and infrastructure in place both in Ireland and overseas," Ms McCarthy said.
"Through this strengthened global presence and enhanced skill-set, Bord Bia will continue to deliver valuable insights and identify opportunities to allow the Irish agri-food industry to meet our ambitious growth targets as set out by FoodWise 2025."
The positions on offer include roles in branding, marketing, insights, PR, digital marketing, events and business development.
