Ann's advice for other businesses

1 Be honest

Be honest with yourself about what you need to do in any situation. Be honest too with your customers and your staff. Honesty helps build trust and trust is at the heart of building strong and long-lasting relationships. Together, this helps create loyal and long-lasting staff and customers.

2 Know your market IT is important to know everything about the product you are making or selling, where the gap in the market is, what customers are attracted to and the price point you need to achieve in order to build a viable and sustainable business. Knowledge is power and, in business, it is not only valuable but vital.

3 Believe in yourself

Business can be tough. In order to get through the hard times we all face, you have to really believe in yourself and in what you are trying to achieve. And you have to remain incredibly determined when you are confronted with obstacles. Believe you can and you will. Success is as much about your attitude as about your actions.
