AIB has appointed Mark Bourke as the new chief financial officer (CFO) for the bank.

Mr Bourke, who has filled the role of CEO at financial services group IFG for the past 12 years, will also become an executive director on the bank's board.

It was announced today that he would leave IFG at the end of April to take up his new post.

AIB CEO David Duffy said, “I am extremely pleased to welcome Mark to AIB.  He brings with him a wealth of experience in international financial services and I am sure that he will make a valuable contribution to the future strategic direction of the bank.”

In a statement this morning, IFG said they had already commenced a recruitment process for a new CEO.
