AIB - no sign yet of housing market recovery

AIB says it has yet to see any evidence of a recovery in the Irish housing market.

However, in a statement today, the bank said any signs of recovery should become apparent later this year in the level of new mortgages taken out during July, August and September.

AIB says the end of last year was the worst point for the housing market, with consumer confidence almost completely collapsing.
