Woman killed after car collides with truck

A woman has died in an accident after her car collided with a truck in Tipperary.

Gardai in Thurles are investigating the fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Dovea, Bouladuff, (on the N62, Thurles to Templemore Road) in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At around 2.30am, the male truck driver, aged in his forties, collided with the car.

The driver, a woman in her mid-sixties, was fatally injured and her body was removed to University Hospital Limerick, where a post mortem will take place.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Garda Collision Investigators attended the scene and the road was closed with local diversions in place.

Gardai are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the collision or travelled on the N62 or who can assist them in relation to the investigation to contact Thurles Garda Station on 0504 25100, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
