A woman has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a pensioner.

Bertie Acheson, 72, died after he confronted a burglar at his home in Coleraine, Co Derry, in April.

Police said the 22-year-old woman was detained in the Antrim area.

It is the second arrest by police in connection with the inquiry. A man, also from the Antrim area, has previously been interviewed, but was released without charge.

Mr Acheson suffered a heart attack during the confrontation. Detectives believe it was brought on by stress.

Crimestoppers, the independent charity, has offered a £10,000 reward for information which will lead to the arrest and conviction of the offender.
