A woman who was struck by a motorcycle earlier this week has tragically passed away.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision between the motorbike and pedestrian to get in contact.

A 75-year-old woman - named as Tressa McKernan - was hit by a motorcycle on Ballinteer Avenue, Dublin 16 on April 8 at around 7.45pm.

She was pronounced dead yesterday at Beaumont Hospital.

It’s understood she had just stepped off a bus and was attempting to cross the road when the collision occurred.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dundrum Garda Station on 01-6665600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
