A mother-of-three who was seriously injured in a collision last Friday has tragically passed away.

Anne Grogan, who was in her early 30s and from Ballinlough, Co Roscommon, died at University College Hospital Galway on Monday evening.

Her car was involved in a crash with a lorry and van.

Ballyhaunis Community School, where Anne worked as a teacher, paid tribute to their "much loved" member of staff.

"It was with great sadness that we learnt of the tragic passing of our dear friend and colleague Anne Grogan," the school said in a statement on its website.

"Anne was a much loved member of the school community, admired and respected by both students and staff alike. We will miss Anne’s dedication and professionalism as a teacher but above all we will miss her kindness and her warmth as a good friend."

She is survived by her husband and three children.

Her funeral Mass will take place on Friday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Ballinlough.
