A man (40s) sustained a leg injury and emergency services were called to the scene.
Due to the man’s location, ambulance services were unable to remove him so air support attended.
The store had to close temporarily but reopened shortly afterwards.
The man was taken to Cork University Hospital.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "We’re aware of an incident at our Youghal store yesterday afternoon which was attended by the emergency services.
"The store temporarily closed for approximately 10 minutes as a matter of safety due to the presence of an air ambulance. The injured party was safely taken to hospital. An investigation is underway and as such we cannot comment further."
