Van driver killed as vehicle collides with truck

The crash occurred at Ballymackesy, Co Wexford, on Friday morning.

A man aged in his 50s has died following a collision between a van and a truck in Co Wexford.

The crash occurred on the N30 at Ballymackesy, four miles from Enniscorthy, at around 7.25am on Friday.

The driver of the van died.

The truck driver was not injured.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The local coroner has been notified.

The road has been closed for a garda forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to come forward and anyone with information is asked to contact Enniscorthy garda station 053 9242 580, the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
