Two men have been arrested following separate drug seizures in Co Meath and Dublin.

Gardai stopped a car just outside Sheepmore Estate in Blanchardstown, Dublin this afternoon and uncovered over two kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated €145,000.

A 39-year-old man was the sole occupant of the car and was arrested at the scene.

He is currently being detained at Blanchardstown garda station.

Another man was arrested after gardaí discovered 68 cannabis plants during a search at a house in Laytown Co Meath this evening.

Meath Divisional Drugs Unit and Laytown gardaí seized the drugs with a market value of €55,000 following a planned search of the property.

The seizure is part of ongoing Garda operations against the sale and supply of drugs in the east Meath area, according to a post on Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page.

In a separate drug seizure, Gardaí on patrol in Ratoath Co Meath last week seized a holdall from a juvenile “acting suspiciously” which contained a number of controlled drug substances.

The contents of the bag had an estimated street value of €2,800 made of up drugs including cocaine and tablets.

A post on the same Facebook page said the bag also contained “substances including cannabis (broken up into multiple ‘deals’) cocaine and tablets”.

Investigations are ongoing.
