Off-duty garda dies after diving incident
The man was recovered from the water off the coast of Co Wexford in a critical condition and died later in hospital.
An off-duty garda has died following a diving incident.
The body of a male diver, in his 40s, was recovered from the water off the coast of Co Wexford at around noon on Saturday.
It happened during a dive a few miles from Hook Head.
Members of the gardai and the Coastguard attended the scene.
The man was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition but later died.
A post-mortem examination is to be carried out and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
