Man in his 50s dies in car collision

The incident happened on the N24, between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir on Wednesday night.

A man in his 50s has died after the car he was driving collided with another vehicle in Co Tipperary.

Gardai have launched an investigation into the crash which happened on the N24, between Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir on Wednesday at around 11pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was brought to South Tipperary General Hospital where a full post-mortem will take place.

The other driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road remains closed while garda forensic collision investigators carry out an examination of the area.

Traffic diversions are in place.
