Human remains found in Wexford

The remains were found by a pedestrian at Ballyandrew near Ferns.

Gardai have launched an investigation after the discovery of human remains in Co Wexford.

The remains were found by a pedestrian at Ballyandrew near Ferns at around 11.30am on Monday.

The scene has been preserved and the office of the state pathologist has been notified.

The body remains at the scene. Gardai are not aware how long it has been there.

The garda technical bureau will attend the area on Tuesday morning and a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out.
