GOAL worker Sharon Commins freed
The kidnapped Irish aid worker Sharon Commins has been released from captivity in Darfur.
The 32-year-old from Dublin was freed along with her Ugandan colleague Hilda Kawuki.
In the past few minutes the Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin has expressed his delight and relief at their safe release.
The two GOAL aid workers were held for more than a hundred days.
Further details on the circumstances leading to the release are expected to emerge later.
