Gardai investigating three separate assaults which have left three men fighting for their lives

Gardai in Dublin and Meath are investigating three separate assaults which have left three men fighting for their lives.
A man arrested after another young man suffered serious injuries in an assault in Navan, Co Meath has been released without charge this evening.
The incident happened in the Watergate Street area at around 3am on Saturday morning.
Gardai have confirmed that a 22-year-old man arrested in connection with the assault was released this evening.
A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The 21-year-old who was injured following the incident remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who was in the Watergate Street area between 2.45am and 3.30am, and who may have witnessed the assault, or any motorists who may have passed through, to contact officers at Navan Garda Station on 046 – 9036100.
Meanwhile, gardaí are also investigating after a man was discovered with serious head injures in a housing estate in Tallaght last night.
Emergency services were called to the incident at at Killinarden Estate shortly after 11pm after the man was found by a passer-by who raised the alarm.
The injured man was taken by Gardaí to Tallaght Hospital where his condition is currently understood to be critical.
Sources said that gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry into the assault.
It’s understood the injured male was involved in an argument at a nearby pub yesterday evening, and it’s being investigated if there is a link between this incident and the assault.
No arrests have yet been made but investigations are ongoing.

Gardai are also investigating a third serious assault over the weekend which has left another man fighting for his life.
The victim, aged in his early 30s, was discovered in the Cloonmore area of Tallaght at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon.
He was brought to Tallaght University Hospital where he has been placed in an induced coma.
Gardai are investigating if the man was attacked with a weapon, possibly a lump of timber, which caused a bleed to the brain and a punctured lung.
No arrests have yet been made but it is understood that detectives have identified a suspect.
It is not believed that this assault is linked to the attack in the Killinarden area the previous night.
