Firearms discovered in Dublin

A number of firearms were discovered in the Bridewell area of the city.

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the discovery of a number of firearms in the Bridewell area of the city.

Early reports say that the haul includes a large number of weapons and was discovered by builders on Tuesday afternoon.

The arms were found in a container close to Phoenix Park and the Criminal Courts of Justice.

A Garda spokeswoman said: “Investigations are ongoing and we have no further information available at this stage.”
