Eight in hospital after tram and bus collide

The incident happened on Saturday morning in Dublin city centre.

Eight people have been taken to hospital following a collision between a Luas tram and a bus in Dublin city centre.

The incident happened at about 7am on Saturday in Queen Street, Smithfield.

The tram was derailed in the crash.

Gardai said eight people who were injured in the incident have been taken to hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services and tram operators examined the scene.

Services on the red line Luas were disrupted as a result of the collision.

They did not resume in full until shortly before 5pm.

Green line services continued to operate as normal.
