Busy Dublin road closed off during 'security alert'
A busy main street in north Dublin was closed off earlier this evening following a "security alert."
The Main Street in Swords and Malahide Road and the surrounding areas were closed off after the alarm was raised shortly after 4.30pm.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Swords have reopened Main Street and Malahide road Swords following an earlier security alert.
"The alarm was raised shortly after 4.30pm and a cursory search was carried out by Gardaí and business owners in the area as a precaution.
"Nothing was located by Gardaí and enquiries are ongoing."
