THE Army bomb disposal unit was called to deal with a suspect device in south Dublin this afternoon.

Members of the EOD were requested by local gardai in the Dundrum area at around 3pm.

Gardai sealed-off a scene in the Ardglas estate, near the Sandyford Road, before the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit carried out an examination.

It is believed the device may be an expired chemical from a nearby school which was removed to a field in the estate.
