TOWERING over him by more than five inches, L'Wren Scott and Mick Jagger may not have always appeared the most obvious of couples.
But after first meeting in 2001, the willowy American model-turned-designer quickly succeeded where many women before her had failed, in managing to tame the ageing lothario.
Recent reports even had the couple contemplating marriage as the 70-year-old looked to settle down with the woman who was more than 20 years his junior.
The longevity and strength of their relationship surprised many of those who expected Jagger to become bored as he had so many times before.
Married twice, the Rolling Stones frontman has seven children, the oldest being 43 and the youngest just 14.
In the 1960s he was linked to a string of A-list celebrities including model and actress Chrissie Shrimpton, singer Marianne Faithfull and model Anita Pallenberg.
In 1971 he married Nicaraguan-born Bianca De Macias, after meeting her at a Rolling Stones after-concert party, but they divorced in 1978.
The year before his divorce from Bianca, he began dating Jerry Hall, the Texan-born supermodel.
They had four children together and after more than a decade together underwent a Hindu marriage ceremony on a beach in Indonesia.
Other women linked to Jagger over the years have included singer Carly Simon, model Sophie Dahl and Carla Bruni, wife of former French President Nicholas Sarkozy.
