US actor Columbus Short has tested positive for cocaine and marijuana use and is facing a probation violation in an assault case, court records show.
The records show a probation report received by a court last week reported the positive drug tests, prompting a judge to order the Scandal actor to appear at a hearing on May 9.
Short pleaded no contest to assault in September and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, community service and anger management counselling. He was charged after he punched someone in a fight at a family gathering in March 2014.
Short's lawyer said the actor has already addressed his drug use and hopes he will remain on probation.
