A new website allows you to explore the results of scientific research into various predictors of death within five years.
UbbLE, or UK Longevity Explorer, uses findings from scientific research carried out by Andrea Ganna (Karolinska Institutet and Uppsala University) and Erik Inglelsson (Uppsala University.)
The project used data from the UK Biobank, a resource created with the aim of improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of serious disease. The Biobank comprises a number of measurements gathered from UK volunteers between 2006 and 2010.
The researchers used the gathered information to investigate how 655 variables were associated to death within five years.
The website allows you to explore this research through interactive graphs and also use a Risk Calculator to predict your risk of dying within five years.
A short questionnaire, comprised of just 13 questions for men and 11 questions for women, will produce you "Ubble Age". If your Ubble Age is lower than your real age, your risk of an early death is lower. If the Ubble Age is significantly higher, the site recommends making improvements, such as stopping smoking.
