Two people have been killed in an attack at a courthouse in Frankfurt, German police said.
Frankfurt police wrote on Twitter that a shooting and stabbing at the state court in Germany's financial capital resulted in the two deaths.
Police spokesman Ruediger Reges told N24 television that the attacker is believed to have fired shots in a courtyard at the courthouse, killing one of the victims. The other apparently fled inside the building, but the assailant followed and stabbed him.
He said the suspected attacker fled on foot but was arrested near the courthouse. There was no immediate word on a possible motive, or on the identities of the victims or assailant.
