'Stolen' car finally found next door

An Audi written off by an elderly German woman as stolen two years ago has resurfaced -- in her neighbour's unused garage.
Police said the 82-year-old, from Hildesheim, took the car in for repairs two years ago and the mechanics drove it back and parked it in the wrong garage. She got the keys through her letterbox, but when she went to get the car it was nowhere to be seen, so she reported it stolen.
Children lay down law during exams
Police officers taking promotion exams this week in north-western China faced a different kind of law -- 18 children who supervised the exams for cheaters.
A report on the local government website yesterday said students in Liangzhou county in China's Gansu province monitored 265 police officers taking tests.

Tiger unveils vanishing trick
A tiger used in a magic act escaped and wandered the streets of Las Vegas before being found in a back garden.
A spokesman said it belonged to the Fernando's Brothers magic act, who recaptured it safely.
Italy ratifies use of abortion drug
Italy has approved the use of the abortion drug RU-486, capping years of debate and defying opposition from the Vatican, which warned of immediate excommunication for doctors prescribing the pill and for women who use it.
Its approval was praised by women's groups and pro-choice organisations.
