Car bombs and a shooting have killed six people across Iraq.
Kirkuk deputy police chief Major General Torhan Abdul-Rahman Youssef said three car bombs exploded simultaneously in separate residential neighbourhoods. Maj Gen Youssef said four people were killed and 14 wounded.
The northern city of Kirkuk is 180 miles from the capital, Baghdad.
Near the capital, police and medical officials said gunmen shot dead a former army officer and his wife in a drive-by shooting in Baghdad's northeastern suburbs.
Violence has escalated in Iraq over the past year, particularly since late last month after authorities dismantled an anti-government Sunni protest camp and arrested a Sunni lawmaker.
