Shocking moment MS sufferer is floored after a single punch in parking dispute

The moment a thug punched a woman to the ground in a row over parking has been caught on CCTV.

The man launched the savage attack on Heather Smith, 49, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, outside her business in broad daylight on a busy street as people walked past just yards away.

He knocked Miss Smith off her feet and shattered her jaw in four places with a single punch.

The man, who appeared to be in his early 20s and was wearing a light tracksuit, is now being hunted by police after the assault.

Seriously-injured Miss Smith, who is just 5ft 1ins tall, said she was attacked in front of her firm in Ardleigh Green Road, Hornchurch, Essex.

Heather said: "The pain was unbelievable but I couldn't get up because my legs were shaking.

"I was so afraid he was going to come back.

"Now I'm afraid he'll do it again."

Miss Smith has since had a three-and-a-half hour operation at Queen's Hospital, Romford, to put a metal plate and pins in her jaw but is in constant pain.

She now faces a further operation if the fractures in her upper jaw don't heal properly.

Her business partner, Keith Edwards, 53, who is also seen in the CCTV footage, has now put up a £1,000 reward for information leading to the thug's arrest.
