It is understood in an attempt to avoid hitting another vehicle, the bus' driver made a sharp right turn and accidentally drove straight into the corner of the building.

The Resorts World Casino bus smashed through the corner of the apartment building in the neighborhood of Rego Park in Queens, badly damaging the home and littering the sidewalk with debris.

Pinned in the bus, the driver needed to be cut from the wreck by fire crews.

He was taken to New York Hospital Queens in critical condition, according to fire officials.

Seven others were also injured said police. No one inside the building was hurt, a spokesperson added.

Firefighters were seen giving aid to at least two people outside the bus and multiple people were seen in stretchers, according to local news.
