About a dozen plane flights were diverted or cancelled after dark smog caused by a night of firecracker explosions obscured visibility at Manila's airport, officials said.
Man killed by home fireworks
AN explosion caused by a man setting off fireworks in his apartment on New Year's Eve destroyed a residential building in Rome, killing him and injuring several other occupants, including a child.
Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno said that the man was known to police for dealing in illegal fireworks.
