Police hunt on as girl (14) gang-raped in Sydney
POLICE in Sydney, Australia have launched an investigation after a 14-year old girl was gang raped.
Police said the girl was so traumatised after the incident in a western Sydney park that they had to wait a day before they could speak to her.
She had been walking a short distance from a friend’s home through a reserve in Doonside when she was approached by a man at 11pm on Saturday.
He forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her one of the paths in the park.
Then five other men took turns sexually assaulting her over a period of about 30 minutes.
The girl was walking a short distance home from a friend’s house through Bill Colbourne reserve, Doonside, when she was approached by the man.
He touched her inappropriately before he forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her on one of the paths in the park.
“Being of such a tender age, she is traumatised to an extent that I can’t really describe,” Superintendent Gary Merryweather told journalists.
“Part of the delay of us getting the information out to the public is because the young girl was in shock.
“Her family are nice people, they’re good people ... they’re just completely devastated.”
After the incident, the men fled leaving the girl to walk to a friend’s house, police were then called and she was taken to hospital.
