Poker player who left $300,000 in cab gives $10,000 to taxi driver who returned cash
A poker player who left a bag with $300,000 in the back seat of a Las Vegas taxi has given $10,000 to the honest cabbie who returned the money.
Yellow Checker Star Cab Company chief executive Bill Shranko said the gambler rewarded driver Gerardo Gamboa. He has also been named employee of the year, and given another $1,000 and a gift certificate to a Las Vegas steakhouse.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Mr Gamboa was making a pickup on Monday at the Bellagio when a hotel doorman noticed the brown paper bag. He found bundles of bills inside and turned the money in to the cab company. Police linked it to the gambler, who they have not named.
