PM Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan after heart surgery in London
Pakistan's prime minister Nawaz Sharif has returned home 48 days after he underwent cardiac surgery in London.
Spokesman Mohiuddin Wani said Mr Sharif landed on Saturday in his home town of Lahore where he went straight to his rural compound to see his family.
Details of the surgery involved or Mr Sharif's original ailment were never disclosed.
Mr Sharif had left Pakistan among opposition calls that he resign because family members were named as holders of offshore bank accounts, according to documents leaked from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca.
Mr Sharif has said he is ready to face investigation, and defended his financial record in a speech in parliament.
Pakistan's main opposition parties have said that they will start a fresh campaign against the premier to pressure him to resign.
