This is the shocking moment a woman was mauled to death by a tiger in front of her family as she stepped out of her car at a wildlife park in China.
The dramatic video shows the horrifying moment a woman is dragged off by a tiger after getting out of her car at a safari park, before another family member is mauled to death trying to save her.
The woman was in her 30s and had reportedly gotten out of the car to speak to her husband while believing the family had left the park at that stage.
In the video a tiger can be seen pouncing on the woman and injuring her after she got out of a private car in at the Beijing Badaling Wildlife World on Saturday.
The woman’s mother who was 57 was then killed by another tiger that leapt at her after she stepped out of the vehicle to try to help her companion.
The Yanqing district government confirmed that the tiger attack took place at the park, which lies at the foot of the Great Wall. It offered few details but said the injured person was being treated.
Visitors are allowed to drive their own vehicles around the park, but are forbidden from getting out while in certain enclosures, the report said.
A woman who answered the phone at the park refused to comment on the attack, saying only that the park was closed for two days due to forecasts of heavy rain.
The first woman is now being treated in hospital for serious injuries, while the park has been closed pending an investigation.
