Donald Trump has sent his first tweet since becoming US-President elect.

The 45th president of the United States reflected the sentiment he expressed in his victory speech.

He said: "Such a beautiful and important evening! The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before."

Trump used similar language after Hillary Clinton conceded defeat. He said: "Forgotten men and women of our country, will be forgotten no longer."

That was one of the highlights in a speech which displayed a humility rarely seen throughout the campaign, during which he congratulated Hillary Clinton on a hard fought campaign and said that he would be a president for every American, not just the ones who voted for him.
