A 26-year-old dad-of-two died after a tooth infection spread to his lungs.

Vadim Kondratyuk Anatoliyevich from California suffered from a tooth infection which a dentist treated with antibiotics after cleaning out the tooth.

The truck driver began to experience pain again and his mouth began to swell, according to a GoFundMe page set up by his family.

Vadim was brought straight to hospital where doctors said the infection had spread to his lungs.

Vadim is survived by his Nataliya and two daughters, Vanessa (2) and Maya (11 months).

His lungs became filled with fluid and he could no longer breath on his own.

"Due to the severity of the infection the antibiotics were not strong enough to fight the infection and his heart eventually gave up. His heart beat for the last time on the morning of January 30, with his wife by his side," his GoFundMe page reads.

"I know he's in heaven. He's a happy person right now. He's gonna be my angel for the rest of my life and he's gonna help me through this whole time without a dad and without a husband," Nataliya told Fox 40 News.
