Donald Trump has made a pitch for the Irish vote with a green 'Make America Great Again' baseball cap - just in time for St Patrick's Day.

The hats are available to buy online but they don't come cheap at $50 (€47.50).

Yesterday, 'Team Trump' unveiled the new hats. "Capture the luck of the Irish with this Make America Great Again hat," a statement read. "Order by March 13 to ensure delivery by St Patrick's Day."

The headgear is embroidered with The Donald's trademark logo while a gold four-leaf clover decorates the back. The caps are "proudly made in USA" and can be shipped worldwide.

It remains to be seen whether Mr Trump will wear the hat for his meeting with Enda Kenny when the Taoiseach visits the White House on St Patrick's Day.

Mr Kenny has insisted he will tell Mr Trump what he thinks of his controversial policies when he walks into the Oval Office on March 17.

However, his opponents are concerned the meeting will be nothing more than a "happy, clappy, shamrockery event".
