One dead, three 'seriously injured' after stab attack on University of Texas campus

Emergency responders say one person is dead and several injured after a stabbing attack on the University of Texas campus.

Three people have been transported to hospital with possibly serious injuries.

The attack was carried out near the University of Texas gym shortly after 2pm on Monday afternoon.

The university has confirmed that the suspect is in custody. It is yet unclear as to what the motive for the attack was.

There is no ongoing threat to the campus, the university confirmed in a text message to students shortly after the incident.
