“Forbes Ave currently blocked as Pittsburgh Paramedic Rescue attempts to rescue male trapped between buildings. Male attempted to impress date by jumping from one building to next,” the department wrote on Facebook.

The team tweeted they were called to the scene in the early hours of Tuesday morning (August 23), and also shared photos of the rescue.

They added that officers with the Pittsburgh Police Department helped keep the man ‘calm’ during the operation to free him.

Authorities knocked holes through the interior walls of one of the buildings in an attempt to get him out, Pittsburgh Public Safety Officer Sony Toler told KTLA.

“We were trying to go from inside of the business establishment and that has proved to be a bit difficult because we don’t know exactly where he is when we’re coming in from the inside,” she said.

“So we’ve moved operations to the outside of the buildings and we’re going to try to actually go in the gap between the buildings.”

A rescue worker later abseiled down the gap to help free him.

The man suffered a broken ankle in the accident and was stretchered away from the scene, KTLA adds.

Back in 2014,  a woman looking for her soulmate found herself trapped in the chimney of a man she met through an online dating site.

"She seemed totally cool until the first flag was her actually being on my roof two weeks ago," the homeowner explained.

While this missing hiker was found alive thanks to a genius move with some duct tape.
