Dad dies after jumping from bridge with toddler sons- Miraculously sons survive
A dad died after jumping from a bridge with his two young sons, but they miraculously survived.
On Monday, police in New Jersey received a call that a man threatened to harm his family, according to The Washington Post.
He had argued with his wife then drove away with their two young sons aged two and four.
Authorities tracked his phone to a bridge in Pequannock, a small town in New Jersey but according to police they found his empty white SUV.
According to The Washington Post, authorities feared the father had attempted suicide and searched the terrain below the overpass. They found the family in a wooded area near the river, state police said in a statement.
The father was dead but miraculously his sons were alive.
The children were taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
State police would not say Monday night how far the three fell but said it was part of the investigation.
ABC 7 reported they jumped from as high as 100 feet, although a CBS 2 report estimated the fall could have been anywhere from 20 to 50 feet.
