Blind woman 'lived with corpse of her son for 20 years' - NYPD
A blind woman may have accidentally lived with the corpse of her son for 20 years, according to police in New York.
A sister-in-law of the elderly woman visited her Brooklyn home this month and discovered the fully dressed corpse in a second-floor bedroom.
Hoarder Rita Wolfensohn's home is densely-packed with belongings and rubbish, but the sister-in-law discovered the young man lying on his back on a thin mattress.
According to the New York Post, a police source described it as "like some reverse 'Psycho' scene", referring to Hitchcock's 1960 horror film in which character Norman Bates keeps his dead mother in the basement.
Police in New York believe Wolfensohn did not know she was living with the corpse, as the room in which he was found was filled with rubbish and dirt.
Authorities have not officially identified the body but believe it is the woman's son and that he died of natural causes.
Wolfenshon had two sons, but relatives said they had not seen one in 20 years.
