An American architect has died after falling from a skyscraper he was working on in Manhattan.
Bruno Travalja (52) was working on the roof of a 48-storey tower when he lost his footing and plummeted to the building’s second floor ledge below.
He had knelt down to take measurements, got dizzy when he stood back up, and fell over an 18-inch security barrier around the roof.
Travalja was wearing a safety harness when he fell, but it was not connected to the structure at the other end.
New York’s Department of Buildings and the NYPD are both investigating his death.
