Motormouth Clarkson the new voice of sat nav
THE Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson (pictured right) is cashing on in his motormouth reputation by signing up to become the voice of a new satellite navigation gadget, writes Martin Evans.
Rather than the soothing tone normally associated with sat nav devices, drivers will soon be able to have Clarkson barking orders at them as they negotiate traffic.
His rather tongue-in-cheek instructions include directing motorists to perform handbrake turns rather than U-turns, it is claimed.
As well as Clarkson's voice, the new Tom Tom device, which is set to be launched next month, also features a Stig mode -- based on the Top Gear's famously mute racing driver.
This will allow drivers to turn off Clarkson, if his in-car rants become too much.
The deal, a joint venture between Tom Tom and BBC Worldwide, is likely to prove hugely popular with the millions of Top Gear fans around the world. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
